Compassionate, skillful, intuitive, with awesome listening skills. That is me now. It wasn’t easy getting there. It was a slow burn…but the intensity of it got the better of me.
For over 35 years, I was a leader of a non-profit that served homeless persons with mental health challenges. With my dedicated team, we helped 100’s of people find a home. With the addition of holistic support services, the clients had the safety and security to begin their healing journey.
Throughout my long and soul-satisfying career, I kept motivated knowing that I could make real and positive change in the lives of those most in need. My re-invention as a Life Coach is one that I am very grateful for as it honors my expertise in listening, nurturing, and motivating individuals to attain greater fulfillment.
I have spent most of my life serving my community – whether that be in the form of my 9-5, or running a household with my supportive and fun-loving husband and 5 multi-talented awesome daughters. My 6 energetic, charismatic grandchildren keep me young and on my toes.
That was Until I retired. It took me several months to decompress. I tried hard to let go of the ‘need’ to be active and productive. And then it took several more months to transition out of my fatigued and purposeless state of mind.
I managed to get through this idleness with unhealthy eating, unlimited Netflix, sleeping a lot and questioning my purpose in life. I was bored and restless. I finally recognized that I was in the arena of compassion fatigue.
That’s when I realized I needed a Life Coach to guide me through this transition into retirement. Slowly and gradually, I began to change some of those old unhealthy and sneaky habits and lean towards wellness.
Change didn’t come easy. My Coach helped me to take the essential steps to overcome inertia. With intuitive guidance and support, I made slow, progressive adjustments in my mindset and focused on positive things in my life.
Although I was retired, I still felt a need to be of service to others. At the mature age of 68, I decided I wanted to further my education. I went back to school. I reinvented myself. I became a Certified Life and Health Coach professional. I am passionate about helping others to overcome their inertia, start taking better care of themselves, gain clarity on what they desire in life, and finally achieve their new goals.
I now make physical activity and eating healthy a priority. I’m always amazed at how this motivates me to continue to give back to my community.
I am on a mission to become a better version of myself and to guide others to feel better about who they are.
When I am not coaching, I am enjoying my big fun family, local cafes, volleyball, pickleball, period-piece movies, long walks with friends, yoga, gardening, cooking, baking family favorites and reading, reading, reading.
Looking forward to connecting with you!
